Searches for walking pads “in store” and in specific Irish cities are common. Many people want to see the size, try the height or avoid waiting for a courier. Walking pads are still mostly sold online, and in-store stock is patchy. This guide sets out what the main retailers offered when we checked, and how Irish consumer rights apply.

Can I see a walking pad in a shop?
Possibly, but do not count on it. Elverys and Decathlon have the widest walking-pad ranges online among Irish high-street chains. Floor models are not guaranteed, though, and stock differs between Dublin, Cork, Galway and smaller towns. Phone the branch before travelling. Specialist shops such as McSport have listed KingSmith WalkingPad models, but they were out of stock when we checked.
If you cannot try one in person, compensate by checking the dimensions carefully and buying from a seller with a clear, affordable returns route.
Your consumer rights when buying online
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC):
- You usually have 14 days from delivery to cancel an online purchase for any reason.
- You must then return the goods within 14 days and may have to pay return costs. For a 15–25 kg walking pad, ask what that costs before you buy.
- The seller should refund you, including standard delivery, within 14 days, subject to getting the item back.
- If the goods are faulty, the CCPC explains you have a short-term right to reject within 30 days and remedies for up to six years, and the business pays to return faulty items.
Some retailers offer more generous terms than the legal minimum, such as Decathlon’s long returns window or Elverys’ free in-store returns. Some attach conditions, such as unopened packaging. We are not lawyers. For a specific dispute, contact the CCPC.
Online vs in store: how to decide
- Want the lowest price or powered incline? Online specialists currently have the widest choice under €250.
- Want easy returns? A retailer with in-store returns saves you arranging a courier for a heavy box.
- Want a longer warranty? Compare: Decathlon states 2 years on the W500B; Home Fitness Code states 12 months.
- Living outside a city? Check whether delivery is to your door or kerbside, and whether there are extra charges for remote areas.

Does Argos still sell walking pads in Ireland?
Argos closed its Irish stores in June 2023 (RTÉ report). Look to the retailers above instead.
Can I buy from Amazon?
Amazon lists many walking pads that ship to Ireland, from various sellers. Check who the seller is, the delivery cost to Ireland, and the returns process for a bulky item.
Is click and collect available for walking pads?
Sometimes. Decathlon and Currys offer it on eligible items. Elverys’ listing we checked said heavy items could not be collected.
