Updated 13 October 2026 · Retailer listings checked 13 October 2026
Plenty of Irish shoppers still search for a walking pad at Argos, Harvey Norman, Lidl or Aldi. The short answer in October 2026: none of them had a walking pad you could buy in Ireland when we checked. Argos no longer trades here, Harvey Norman Ireland lists treadmills but no walking pads, and Lidl and Aldi only sell fitness kit as occasional, short-lived specials. Here is what each one offers, and where to look instead.
Key points
- Argos closed all its stores and its online operation in the Republic of Ireland in June 2023, so it no longer sells walking pads here.
- Harvey Norman Ireland listed no walking pads on 13 October 2026. Its cardio range included one treadmill, the Echelon Stride (€2,099), sold online only.
- Lidl Ireland and Aldi Ireland had no walking pad on their websites on 13 October 2026. Fitness items appear as limited specials.
- Walking pads you can order in Ireland today start at €99.99 online, or €199 at Elverys.

Does Argos sell walking pads in Ireland?
No. Argos closed all its stores in the Republic of Ireland, and its Irish online and delivery service, in June 2023 (RTÉ report). Older buying guides and price-comparison sites that still list Argos walking pads for Ireland are out of date. Argos still trades in Northern Ireland and Great Britain.
Does Harvey Norman sell walking pads?
Not in Ireland at the moment. When we checked harveynorman.ie on 13 October 2026, its cardio equipment range had no walking pads. The only treadmill listed was the Echelon Stride Auto-Fold Connected Treadmill at €2,099, a full running treadmill sold online only and shipped direct from the supplier. You cannot see it in a Harvey Norman store. If you were hoping to try a walking pad at Harvey Norman, Elverys is the closest alternative: it has demo models in selected stores. See our Elverys walking pad guide.
Lidl and Aldi walking pads in Ireland
Lidl and Aldi sell fitness equipment as time-limited “middle aisle” offers (Lidl) and Specialbuys (Aldi). Aldi has sold walking pads as Specialbuys in other countries, such as the UK and Australia, but on 13 October 2026 neither lidl.ie nor aldi.ie had one: searches on both sites found no walking pad. If one does appear in Ireland, look out for it in the weekly leaflets, and expect limited stock.
If a supermarket walking pad does appear, check these first
- Maximum user weight. Budget pads are often rated for 100–110 kg. Leave a 15–20 kg margin.
- Top speed. Most are 1–6 km/h, which suits walking at a desk but not jogging.
- Warranty and spare parts. Check how you would claim if the motor or belt fails, and whether a remote or safety key can be replaced.
- Returns. Can you bring a 15–20 kg box back to the store, and do you need it unopened?
- Price. Compare it with the €99.99–€109.99 pads available online all year (prices on 13 October 2026). A special is only a bargain if it beats these.
